How can pool service companies provide proof of service with before and after photos and reports to customers?

Providing proof of service comes down to capturing evidence at the stop and getting it in front of the customer automatically. Pool pros can do both with required photos, service checklists, and a service email that goes out the moment a job is marked complete.

Require a live photo at each stop

Photos only work as evidence if they can't be faked. Skimmer requires photos to be captured on-site when finishing a job, so techs can't upload existing images from their device. Turn it on under Settings > Service Emails by checking the box to require a photo per stop. It works without a cell signal too — work logged in the field uploads as soon as connectivity returns.

Put before and after photos on specific tasks

Photo requirements can also sit on individual checklist items, set universally or per customer, which is where before and after shots earn their keep. A filter clean is the classic case — before and after pictures convey the value of what the customer is paying for. If you keep hearing that skimmer baskets aren't being emptied, you can make a photo required on that item and the customer sees the proof without picking up the phone. Required photos on checklist tasks are available on the Scaling Up and Owning the Market tiers.

Let the service email deliver the report

Once the stop is logged, the customer gets an email with photos, readings, and dosages plus what was done — some pool pros call it a digital door hanger. Completed checklist items are recorded in the service history and can be included in that report, and photos also show up in the customer portal. The template is editable under Settings > Service Emails, which is a good place to add a referral promotion.

Pull up the history when a visit is disputed

Timestamped records with photos, task lists, and logged chemical readings are what settle “your tech didn't show up today.” Those records give you audit-ready proof of presence, and you can view service history from anywhere — office, home, or on vacation. The same hard evidence resolves disputes faster and deflects unfounded liability claims, and it holds up as documentation for insurers.
